Welcome. I'm honored that you stopped by.I am a wife, mother, grandmother, avid reader, author, proofreader, and formatter. One of my greatest joys is to hear from one of my readers. I cannot begin to tell you how much it means when a reader reaches out to let me know they enjoyed my book. When someone says, "I couldn't put it down," I know, for that reader, my goal was met.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me here. I look forward to getting to know you. |

A policeman once told Katherine that anyone is capable of killing another person under the right circumstances. She didn't believe that she could ever take someone's life--until her husband Jacob woke her in the middle of the night with the words, "They've found me." Before she could ask who, Jacob handed her his loaded handgun and said, "If any of them gets past me, you need to take care of him." She thought she'd never be able to shoot a person. Yet, here she was, standing in her closet, an intruder covered in blood at her feet.
Who was this man in her closet?
More importantly, who was Jacob?

This book was so fascinating from page one!
I don't usually read fiction, but I couldn't put down Reluctant Killer. The plot twists were amazingly unpredictable. It is so well written, and the ending was epic! I highly recommend Reluctant Killer by Lisa R. Perron. I guarantee everyone in your book club will read this one. Del Williams |
Just when you think you know the characters
in this book, a twist takes you in a different direction. That is one of my favorite things about a good thriller. Don't worry if you are not a fan of gore; this is not that kind of thriller. It is a good story with interesting characters. Enjoy the ride. Anika S. Madison |
I loved the characters and the web of parallel story lines! I can't wait for the next book!! I recommend this book!

Tess hates the term midlife crisis, and yet she’s sure that’s what this is. Somewhere along her lifeline everything changed. Instead of being a wife to her now ex-husband or a mother to her children, it’s more like she’d turned into extensions of them instead of being herself—as if the real Tess lay dormant. Nothing wakes a person up quicker than the words “You have cancer.” Questions dominate Tess’s mind when she learns of her cancer: “Am I going to die?” “How much is this going to hurt?” “Do I have enough time left to correct my many mistakes—enough time to make a lasting impact on my young daughters?” Perhaps the most difficult question to face for Tess is “Will I be remembered, or will it be as if I were never here?”
We all assume that we’ll have plenty of time to fix the broken parts of our lives. Sometimes we are forewarned that our tomorrows are numbered, and sometimes we are not. Regardless of the amount of time, the real question is “What will you do with the time you have left?”

Before You
Publish Editing
Why hire a proofreader?
I'm sure you've heard the saying, "I do my best proofreading after I hit send." How many times have you posted something on social media or received a copy of your published work to find that you've missed an obvious typo? It is extremely difficult to proofread your own work. Your brain knows what you are trying to say, so it overlooks errors such as missing or double words. Publishing work that is riddled with grammatical or punctuation errors diminishes your credibility. I can't express enough the importance of hiring someone else to proofread your work whether it be for a blog post, an article, or your book.

Need formatting help?
Are you getting ready to self-publish your book and need help formatting the interior for your print or eBook? I can help. Formatting a book is more than just margins and page sizes. Getting the headers and footers right can be tedious and frustrating. Pagination can also be tricky. I have prepared books for print for both KDP and IngramSpark. I can also help with formatting resumes and other documents.
